DOC, i understand the sentiment but in their defense perry’s is a texas-grown establishment that started as a small family-owned deli. can’t fault them for being successful, you know?

jnw32 & darren: well then it looks like we’re going to have to try the place at perry’s! i’m not too much of a steak enthusiast (i’d more likely go for sushi instead). however, every once in a while there is nothing that satisfies quite like a delicious filet done medium rare!

I must say I hate it when chains come in flashing crazy money and trying to push local businesses around. The Place at Perry’s (dispite their forced name change) is a Dallas tradition and has some of the best food in town.

Michelle, The Place at Perry’s (Dallas’ original Perry’s) is very good! Go there a couple times a month. Prefer it over Bob’s and Capital Grille.

Hi Michelle. That’s close to my real name! I have been to The Place at Perry’s, but nor for a while – it was back when it was still called Perry’s. It is good, but then I really like steak places. My wife likes it a lot. But, I don’t think it is as good as some of the other high end steak places like Bob’s or The Capital Grille.

The new Perry’s is different from The Place at Perry’s (which used to also be called Perry’s). The new Perry’s has been around longer (just not in Dallas), so they made the old Perry’s change their name to The Place at Perry’s. Totally different owners.

hey crethe, thanks for the background info. i came across the place at perry’s while googling the restaurant, but couldn’t figure out the connection. perry’s only lists this uptown location in dallas & the place… doesn’t make any mention of being part of perry’s restaurants at all!
