Starbucks Cake

In connection with the previous post, here’s a picture of a Starbucks cake that I made for a friend. Nothing exciting about the ingredients; this cake is all about the design!
Themed cakes are my faves. Anyone interesting ones you’ve made? I’d love to see!

This looks great! I have to ask? What flavor is the cake?
Michelle, you know this cake just begs to be remade and rethemed for St. Patricks Day, don’t you?
That is a wicked cake! Are those crushed coffee beans dusted on top? As requested, here is one of my favorite cakes that I’ve made (feel free to giggle):

When I was a kid I took a cake decorating class. It basically created a monster. My mom used to have me make and decorate cakes for every party and all her friends. I was actually allowed to cuss – only when I was decorating a cake, mind you. My favorite wasn’t the basket weave cake with flowers spilling out of the top. I liked the JAWS cake I made for my birthday. I carved a shark’s head coming up out of the water (sheet cake) with blood on it’s teeth and everything. Then we all went to see JAWS before my slumber party. Ah, cake memories…
gammypie, thanks! it’s a chocolate cake (boxed mix) with vanilla frosting. i dyed it green using (believe it or not) a food dye that comes in a spray can!
and foodczar, most definitely
any excuse to make a fun cake!
Lisa P, that cake iis so funny! (and no, sadly that’s not coffee beans, just sprinkles.) however, that’s a great idea for next time.

any pictures to share of cakes you’ve done? i’d love to see!
