Mo’s Bacon Bar From Vosges

Vosges Haut Chocolate Mo's Bacon Bar

Chocolate + Bacon = ?

It’s one of the wildest chocolate combinations I’ve ever tried, but I definitely enjoyed it. This innovative pairing came from Vosges Haut Chocolate, a luxe chocolatier who makes this exotic bar called Mo’s Bacon Bar. It’s rich milk chocolate mixed with applewood smoked bacon and alderwood smoked salt. The combination is crazy, but the result? Delightful. The sweet chocolate mixes elegantly with the salty, savory bacon. Pleasing to the palate and wonderful in texture (smooth with little crunchy bits!), this is an adventure in taste and very recommended.

Price: $7.50 (yeah, you heard me)

Wow Michelle. I can honestly say that this makes me never want to eat chocolate again. It’s a real travesty.

  • This looks intriguing. It’s hard to imagine what the combination tastes like, so of course, I must try it!

    Thanks for the information.

  • I got one of these at Whole Foods last night. You seriously loved it? It made me gag!

  • The beauty is the combination of sweet and savory. It’s like chicken and waffles. The flavor reminds me of bacon when you eat it with pancakes and the syrup gets on the bacon… salty, sweet, very flavorful. Definitely not my everyday go-to chocolate, but yeah, I really liked it.

  • It’s totally not like chicken and waffles. You aren’t eating a nice big bite of waffles topped with chicken. You eat a few bites of one, then a few of the other. Well, at least that’s how I do it. You’re just a lil’ crazy michelle…but that’s why we love you. ;-)

  • aww.. thank you! :)

when are you coming to visit?! i miss you!

  • I broke off pieces and gave them to some friends at the office today without telling them what it was. You should have seen their faces! Different strokes for different folks.

  • Yeah, I’m a tad skeptical too. Too bad when the bar in question was floating around the LD offices I was out to lunch. Maybe I’ll get my hands on one so I can chime in officially.

  • BOSCO!!!

  • ohhhhhh this is twisted.

nothing should fall under BOTH the ‘meat’ and ‘sweets’ categories on the site….

i am very curious though. that bacon is so damn vivid.

  • I think it sounds great. Where did you pick it up? Central Market?

  • Margie,

yeah, you can buy it at central market. whole foods also carries vosges, but i’m not sure if they carry all of the varieties. i got mine at neiman marcus, but that’s a long story…

    :)

  • So I just started browsing the site and this caught my eye. big surprise?

    But no way!?

    good?

    really???

    i do loooooooove bacon.

  • Well, I HAD to go and get one at CM. Less than $7. But, maybe $6.97. I can’t remember. I like bacon more than I liked chocolate. This reminded me of a “Crackle” bar with really good chocolate. It just has little bacon crackles instead rice crackles. I liked it. I like having salty with sweet.

  • I’ve seen this and been curious to try it, but after my experience with the truly awful Zotter “Coffee/Plum/Anise/Bacon” bar (which tasted like anine-soaked plums and coffee with zero bacon flavor) I was wary. Thanks for the review!
