Hello, World!

Before we launch right into this, I thought it would be nice to share a little about the inspiration behind this idea and what we’re all about. My cohort Brian and I love eating, cooking, and discussing all varieties food—but really, who doesn’t? This humble venture was born firstly out of that genuine love of eating and all that goes with it. Food has definitely been a part of my warmest memories. Whether it’s ice cream cones shared on a sunny pier overlooking the ocean or your grandmother’s homemade cookies on the porch, there is something undeniably special (dare I say, spiritual) about food. Good food brings people together, builds family traditions, and can make a rocky Monday a little bit more bearable. For the place it plays in our lives, we feel that good food should be celebrated and that’s what The Little Dish is all about. No unnecessary reviews about service or ambiance; we’re focusing entirely on the dish. Whether it’s prepared in a restaurant or baked in our own kitchens, the food will always be front and center where it should be.

I mentioned that food-love was the first reason for the beginning of this blog because there is a second. Regardless of what the naysayers may say, Dallas is a great city. It’s got a lot of culture hidden beneath it’s big business exterior waiting to be uncovered. Although there will be fun things on here for food lovers regardless of their location (recipe reviews, trump new products, etc.) this is especially dedicated to Dallas-ites because, well, we feel they deserve it. (And we happen to live there too, which makes it easier on us.)
