One of my favorite, cheap breakfasts in Dallas, a cup of coffee from the guy in the back of shed 2 and fruit samples from the vendors. Of course I still buy produce too!

For horchata? Sure. Try Cuquita's on Henderson. Get some pozole, costilllas en salsa verde, and queso flameado, while you're at it. Unlike most places, Cuquita's makes their horchata from scratch. It may be thicker and less sweet than you're used to, but that's how it should be. Have fun...and post some pictures!

I can't think of a taqueria in Dallas that doesn't have horchata and tamarindo (and often other aguas frescas). The problem may be that you're going to Tex-Mex places--restaurants where gringos eat, rather than ones where Mexican-Americans eat.

foodczar has a point there about the gas! i, however, have no excuse. I've been meaning to get to the market for some time now. i don't think i hit it even once last season. for shame. maybe if it's nice this weekend... that corn looks pretty yummy. i've been wanting to try it with the mayo and chili powder.

Very good, personalized report, Michelle. I wish I could go to the Farmers Market more often. However, for those of us who live north of George Bush, most of the savings we would get on our fruits and vegetables would soon be put into the gas tank just to get down there. Thanks again!!
