Awww, I'm so sorry to hear bout the cupcakes! I don't really trust many cupcake books that are out there.......

What I suggest is to find a good chocolate cupcake base and a good vanilla cupcake base, and then utilize the ideas in the book :oD

thank you! keep your eye out for a review of that coconut cupcake, because I am definitely going to make it. I love coconut!

also, thanks for the tip about the spices. I used actual chai tea which might have been part of the problem :)

Ina Garten has an incredible coconut cupcake recipe, if you don't like coconut...omit and just add chai spices x 2 or x 3. I'd also refrain from using any pre-ground chai spice and use freshly ground cinnamon, cardamom, clove with freshly grated ginger which should significantly amp up the chai flavor.

Nice website, I sure miss Dallas!

Hi,
Well even though I was not there to try out your cupcakes, chai is one of my favorites too! I will just have to try making them myself and let you know how mine turn out. I can taste the frosting right now, it sounds delicious.
Happy Baking
